P A R T Y  @ P U M A

Puma’s stuck their senior director of merchandising, Magda Cardosa, in the window of their Newbury Street store today – on a treadmill –  in honor of the Boston Marathon.  Stop by and see her sweat.  There’s a sale and a party (yes, of course there’s beer and music). Details below!

The Puma Store, 333 Newbury Street, Boston

Boston’s BladeRunners will be at the DJ booth all day.

A the end of Cardoso’s 26.2 mile jaunt, PUMA is throwing a soiree (everyone’s invited!) complete with balloons, snacks, and drinks courtesy of Harpoon, and maybe even dancing.

Anyone who tries on a pair of PUMA’s new Complete Ventis or Complete Spectana running sneakers gets 26% off of any piece of footwear today.  You can also enter to win $50 PUMA gift cards, which will be raffled off throughout the day.

ARTmonday: Isabelle Abramson

Boston-based ceramicist Isabelle Abramson, creator of Isabelle Abramson Ceramics,  is a self-taught artist who learned to work with clay while she worked as a school nurse for a day job. The kids must have been pretty healthy, because she absolutely perfected her craft. Her pieces are gorgeous.

Isabelle shows her work at her studio at 450 Harrison during SoWa’s First Fridays. Jane Miller offers a small collection for sale at her shop J.E.M.

Speaking of which, Jane is hosting an event this week at which Isabelle will be present and previewing new works:  “A South End Design Moment”, Thursday, April 22nd, 6pm – 9pm at J.E.M., 470 Shawmut Ave., Boston.

Shop Alert: Marc Jacobs Expands & Duffy to Wed

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Provincetown

Marc’s quaint but rockin’ shop in the not-so-sleepy-anymore West End is expanding. According to WWD,  the shingled spot will upgrade from 500 square feet to 2,300. Happy news in a town where fashion means flowing caftans for artsy ladies and Speedos and muscle tees for hunky gay guys. The shop is always packed, with tourists and locals scooping up totes, tops, and all that other fun marc by marc stuff. The boutique re-opens for the season with a (private?) celebration this Sunday.  Which leads to more news . . .

Robert Duffy and

The brains behind the brand, Robert Duffy, is marrying his sweetheart, Alex Cespedes, in Ptown on Tuesday. Not only is it actually legal, but Duffy feels a kinship with the town, having summered there during his childhood. Marc will be the best man, and the guest list is small – just 86.  The ceremony will be held out and performed by a Unitarian minister. The cake will be chocolate and the grooms will wear black suits by Armani. Just kidding.

I’m hunting for more details from my Ptown sources . . . will let you know if they pull through!
