Get the Look: 30 Colorful Dining Chairs

Oddly, in all these years, I’ve yet to pull together a roundup of modern dining chairs. I’ve done Get the Look posts for modern patio chairs, modern desk chairs, and modern dining tables, and plenty of other furnishings, but alas, no modern dining chairs. Until now. There’s quite a variety here. There all modern silhouettes, but some are wooden, others acrylic or plastic; only a couple have upholstered seats.

All of these modern dining chairs sport fun colors. There’s a dining room photo by Petra Bindel that I’ve been kind of obsessed with, featuring three Muuto Nerd chairs in pastels around a pale wood table in a white room. When I decorated the dining room in my friend Meredith’s NYC condo, we used Eames chairs in three different colors around a Saarinen pedestal table.

There are more brightly colored modern dining chairs around than you may think. Made.com has several chairs in fun colors, including a hot pink that’d make Barbie blush. Home furnishings site Lulu & Georgia is full of color, with a couple of great purple dining chairs, among others. Crate & Barrel and West Elm sometimes have amazing colors too, but you have to get them quick because they tend to only stock them for a season; and of course, Ikea is worth checking too.

Get the Look: 30 Capiz Shell Pendant Lights & Chandeliers

Given the popularity of bohemian styles and summery coastal decor, you may be thinking of swapping out a boring light fixture with a pretty capiz shell pendant light or capiz chandelier. It’s a pretty look that isn’t the least bit kitschy, as long as you don’t incorporate other shell motifs into your space.

Get the Look: Modern Watering Cans

A watering can is one of those things you don’t think of having (or have room for) when you live in the city. (Or maybe you do, if you’re all green thumb-y.) A while back, I fell in love with a sleek, stainless steel watering can at MoMA (no longer available), that I received as a holiday gift. The long, skinny spout, great for filling vases around the house, is als, not conducive to city-size cabinets, so it lives on the Cape.

I have been thinking of getting another one that’s more compact for Boston (love the copper X3 by Kontextur, though the Born In Sweden watering can is more practical and comes in excellent colors.) I actually don’t have an outdoor watering can on the Cape, which I think I should get if I have any hope of growing anything this summer, which I kinda do. (Shocking, I know.) Get the Look: 18 Graphic Picture Tees

Now that the weather is a bit warmer, I have abandoned by ankle length Patagonia puffer (attractive look, I know). I love wearing an edgy T-shirt underneath a blazer. There’s been an abundance of model and street style T-shirts on the market, along with an appearance of concert tees from yesteryear.

I’ve actually gotten a couple of cute, casual striped blazers at Gap over the last year which have been a staple, along with a cream and navy stripe Tory Burch blazer from several years ago. (The Tory Burch Augusta Jacket, which is a similar idea but with much wider stripes, is on sale. Also, try Gap; maybe the Classic Stripe Blazer) Perhaps I need to do a spring blazers for daytime post!

Get the Look: 22 Digital Print Dresses

Following up on yesterday’s street style post “Style Right Now: 14 Digital Print Looks,” I pulled together 22 digital print dresses for you. (Actually, a couple of them are long T-shirts, but you could totally wear one as a summer dress if you’re petite, or thrown over a bathing suit.) Of course I won’t actually be wearing any (with red hair and freckles I’ve got enough going on without adding a print) but I really do love the digital print look, especially the landscape-y, photographic ones. I totally adore #1 and #14 is pretty cool, but then again, so is everything she does.
