On Friday, instead of participating in the shopping frenzy, my mother-in-law and I visited Miranda Arts Project Space, a gallery/studio in Port Chester, NY to see the current installation, Interplay. It’s a collaborative work by artists Beth Dary and Sarah Lutz. The installation maps out the sea levels of Port Chester waterways—past, present, and future—using sculpture, painting, drawing, and collage. I loved it. The overall concept and look, and the close-in details.

Watch It: ‘Smoke’ by Floto + Warner
I found this video while hunting down credits for today’s colored smoke post. It’s by photographer/director team Jeremy Floto and Cassandra Warner, who are principals in the New York City studio floto+warner. Their photos have appeared in House & Garden, W Magazine, and Wallpaper, and their clients include Volkswagen and Prada. I’m not sure what the story is behind this video, but it’s a beautiful piece, set to the song “Holocene” by Bon Iver. Just watch, it’s mesmerizing.
ARTmonday: Colored Smoke Landscapes
Pinterest is full of these very cool images of colored smoke in the landscape. I’ve pulled together a sampling by a few different photographers. Later today, I plan to post a beautiful video I hope you’ll watch.
