I know I owe you an Oscar post. Working on it. Meanwhile, thought I’d share a little Oscar coincidence. This afternoon, coming into my apartment, I ran into my neighbor, Nancy C. Nancy is way pregnant, over pregnant really, as in due last week. She looks fab, all skinny with a big basketball belly. But better than that, she was sporting Jennifer Aniston’s Oscar ‘do. When I teased her about stealing Jen’s look, she explained that no, it’s her look, that Jen copied her.
Nancy even has a name for it, “the birthing braid.” It’s the ideal look for the maternity ward – your hair’s out of your face, and even when you pull it back into a pony, it looks totally cute. In your face, or not, Jen.

When my daughter was little I did her hair this way too. It was nice because it was out of her face and she did not have to sit for hours while I braided. Now it works for when she is doing sports. She will be thrilled to know that she is ‘in’ and not so thrilled that it is called the birthing braid. =]
Cute. There is a mom with two daughters who has a blog that seems to be all about doing the girls’ hair. She has an adorable picture of one of them sporting this ‘do.
