vase lg

In keeping with this week’s green theme, I’ve organized a giveaway for you! Style Carrot’s first! Contemporary furniture and home accessories site All Modern, one of the 260+ sites that are part of CSN Stores, has generously offered this gorgeous Artecnica tranSglass® Double Vase ($55 value).

I love the shape and color, and it satisfies both kinds of green since it’s eco-friendly. The vase was designed by Emma Woffenden and Tord Boontje. Thanks to Aid to Artisans, a non-profit organization providing assistance to artisans worldwide, tranSglass® vessels are hand crafted in Guatemala from recycled glass, making each a one-of-a-kind piece. It’s even part of MoMA’s permanent collection

TO ENTER: Leave a comment on this post telling me what kind of flowers you envision putting in the vase. Please include your email so we can contact you if you win! All Modern can only ship within the United States. The winner will be selected at random on Friday, July 17th.

Good luck! We’ll all be green with envy if you win! ; )

Shopping Trip: Provincetown’s South Stream Design

There’s a new home design boutique in Provincetown. There’s no name on the outside, but the hang tags on the items say South Stream Design Christian Soderstrom. I think he may be an interior designer. I chatted with him briefly on Memorial Day weekend, but it was their first day and things were busy. The shop is enchanting, mixing home accessories with garden ornaments (new, old, and reproductions). The prices are extremely reasonable and I was excited to see he Cavern wallpaper on two of the walls – he even sells it. I picked up a cute garden bunny for my friend Tanya, since she and Rob were making one of their fabulous brunches for us the next morning. The photos I took didn’t come out very well, so I went back last week and shot a few more. And brought home a garden fairy for myself this time.

Get the Look: Green, The Color

A few if these items are “green.” The rest are simply green, in the old fashioned sense, like, you know, the color. I adore them all.

Covet: Green Chandelier

A nice note from Caroline Morson, owner of über upscale contemporary, but ever tasteful furniture showroom The Morson Collection in Boston:

“I was just reading on your blog all about your enthusiasm for green and thought you might enjoy this incredible chandelier from Barovier and Tosso. They are the oldest still family owned
hand blown glass factory in the isle of Murano. They are 700 years old and counting…that’s 20 generations! It comes in many different sizes and crystal colors, but this one is just
dreamy…”
