The weather has been perfect in Boston—sunny, slightly breezy, just a tinge of crisp. Not that I’d really know; I pretty much haven’t left the house in almost a week I have so much work. But the living rooms windows are wide open. All too soon it will be jacket time and then we’ll be pulling on serious down puffers and shearling lined boots. But right now, we’re in the throes of autumn.

Here’s what the street style stars are wearing atop their casually studied outfits. Lots of patterned toppers, from boxy checks to graffiti print along with a floral or too. There are also animal skin prints, plaids, and marled tweedy coats. Here are 21 patterned coats, street style.

Dipped Earthenware Vases At Gretel Home

These earthenware Drip vases are hand-made in Syracuse, New York by Brian Giniewski.  Glossy glaze, formulated in such a way that allows the artist to suspend it’s drip,  is juxtaposed against a grainy, matte finish of the vase’s body. Alluring pastel colors and earthy textures in sophisticated but not too serious silhouettes.

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve done a furniture roundup, and since I’ve been thinking about mattresses, namely going up to a king on Cape Cod, where we have a platform bed, I settled on pulling together modern platform beds. We have a gorgeous white oak contemporary platform bed that we purchased before the house was done. We used the wood sample as inspiration for the white oak floors. We’re always bumping into its sharp corners though.

Everybody seems to be obsessed with upholstered headboards these days (I have one of those too, a white slipcovered upholstered bed from Pottery Barn), but I prefer the clean lines of a modern platform bed. As stylish furniture goes, a platform bed is clean, simple, and functional.
