Covet: 14 Blue Dreams

The other evening over my homemade matzo ball soup I was browsing through October Harper’s Bazaar (with a veiled Kate Hudson on the cover… why?).  I’ve been a lot more interested in decor over fashion lately, but page 217 held my attention—The Extras: Divine Denim. I really, really want that Georg Jensen watch, wiht the spare white face and azure croc-embossed band. The Dezso by Sara Beltran shell necklace with bezel set stones is pretty amazing, and I’d take either of the bright blue handbags . .  Givency by Riccardo Tisci or Proenza Schouler… hmmm, what to do, what to do? Since buying (or receiving) any of this is a basic impossibility, I settled for the next best thing—browsing my favorite online stores and making a Covet collage. Hope you love it!

ARTmonday: Ryan Pickart’s Portraits of Women

I saw a few of these oil portraits on Pinterest over the weekend, and though they were charming. I love how the women seem to be posed against wallpaper, or, if against a solid background, there’s a floral pattern on their clothing. The portraits, all oil on canvas, were done by Ryan Pickart, a painter from Lowell, Indiana.
