Get the Look: 40 Neutral Taupey Gray Rugs

I kinda want to redecorate my living room. (Husband, if you’re by some off chance reading this, don’t freak out.) But, I’m not going to. I love my pale green walls, and blue accessories, but, I don’t know, I’m just kind of over the patterned rug and bold statements in general. I’m feeling more like cozy neutrals, and installing a gas fireplace. But, like I said, probably I won’t. At least now at this point. I mean, when would I even find the time? I have enough time, however, to do some window shopping for taupey, gray rugs. We actually do need to replace the rug in the family room (again), and that’s the existing color scheme. (I would, however, like to tweak the paint color.) I really love some of these rugs, especially the ones with the muted, blown-out patterns. And that jellyfish is kind of awesome.

Get the Look: 43 Graphic T-Shirts

So did you mix a tee shirt with a tailored jacket or sequined shirt like I asked you to in my graphic T-shirt street style post on Friday? Are you ready to step up to some edgier, sassier sayings? I think it’s easier to mix these simple graphic T-shirts with sayings on them than the ones with pictures, since these are relatively straightforward. Get the Look: 34 Brass Accents

Brass made a comeback a few years ago, and although copper is the metal of the moment (yes, I’ll roundup copper goodies for you soon), brass shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it’s creeping even deeper in the house. In addition to wall sculptures and sputnik chandeliers, faucets have gone brassy. Bits of brass are popping up in bathrooms and kitchens. Today I’m working on a brass in the kitchen post for Lamps Plus, which I’ll supplement with a Montage here on StyleCarrot. Doing things backwards, I put together this roundup of brass furnishings, lighting, accessories for today, in honor of “What’s New, What’s Next” at the New York Design Center.

NYDC invited me to be a blogger ambassador for the program, which takes place on Sept. 19. “What’s New, What’s Next” showcases new ideas, materials, and products that will soon debut at NYDC. This year’s blogger involvement includes a promotion on Pinterest, which we all know I love. The Arteriors andirons (#10) is the inspiration for this post.
