Site Spotlight: Stitch by KMI

Cambridge-based designer Kate Maloney of Kate Maloney Interiors recently launched Stitch by KMI Design, an ecommerce site that features her furniture and accessory finds. Here’s a sampling of the wares. Then scroll down for examples of her design work.

Here are images of some interiors that Kate decorated. My favorites are of a house on the beach in Connecticut that she did for a family last year, but I’ll save those for a separate post.

Get the Look: Elephants in Interiors

Sick of elephants yet? You have to admit, these pieces are pretty cute. I was so enamored of a chrome bank I found on eBay for the “Trendlet Alert: Elephants” story on The Inside Source that I bought it for my friend Meredith who just had a baby (and happens to be editor of that site). Hey, the little guy might turn out to be as much of shopping fiend as his stylish mom.

Montage: 27 Rooms with Ladders

Ladders have been popular in interiors for a while now, not just to access books, but in bathrooms as towel racks. Even stepladders have been appropriated, sometimes with a tray on top, as side tables.
