All black ensembles aren’t the only ultra dark looks I’m obsessed with these days. I’ve also been noticing tons of contemporary residences with exteriors clad in, painted, and in some cases weathered (I think) to the darkest black. I’m especially attracted to the homes with strikingly simple silhouettes, almost rustic, but made modern by their overall blackness. Here’s a collection of 38 such architectural examples. Do you have any favorites here? Would you want to live in one? I think I remember reading in Architectural Digest that Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan’s Hamptons house is painted black, and the neighbors complained.

I love the black. I could live in all but two of these. I have been contemplating painting my 1957 mid-century modern black or deep charcoal .( It is currently dark brown.) Thanks for this montage. You saved me some legwork.
