Montage: 27 Interiors with Ikat Prints & Suaznis

The i k a t trend is holding fast and furious. So much so that Elle Decor, which has been touting the look for years (House Beautiful is a huge fan too), devoted a page to it in the front of the book this month. I promise to put a product post together too, but first, a collection of rooms with ikat elements, with some suzani thrown in. You’ve probably seen a lot of these before, but hopefully there are some new images too.

  1. I adore the Susie Sarlo room, thanks for the intro, I need to see more of her work! Will you be at Brimfield this week too?

    • hi julieann – i so can’t get away to brimfield this week, unfortunately. i am buried under work, and so’s my husband, leaving me to, you know, all the other stuff around here! hope you have fun!

super post – many of those ikat images were new to me, and I couldn’t pick a favorite if my life depended upon it.

have you seen the ikat chairs at Urban Outfitters? Not bad for the $!

  3. I love it, but it did really surprise me to see Elle Decor touting it as the next big thing. They’re supposed to be ahead of the trends!

  4. My wife and I made all of our own decorations. You’d be sesrpirud at what you can do w/ foam core, an over head projector, and spray paint. We went online and found different pictures that looked good as a silhouette.Projected them onto foam core.Cut them out w/ exact-o-knives.And spray painted them adding glitter. The church was small so only a couple hundred dollars there. And did the reception at the party room of a brew pub.We were around 7K total. That was 10 years ago.And we had a small jazz group play music.Any way be cheap!I still think that we should have sold tickets Not to cover the entire cost but to at least defray it
